Hi, I'm Jon

I'll go first.  I'm Jonathan Wheat, the founder of JaduDev and a programmer / analyst at Messiah College.  This is actually my 2nd "Developer Network" creation, the first was the very successful Luminis Developer's Network (http://lumdev.net) which is now managed by my friends at Lehigh University.

I'm a computer geek and have been programming since I was a kid.  I received my first computer - a Commodore VIC 20 with 20k of RAM for Christmas.  I instantly fell in love with computers and learned all about programming, and graphics.  Had some good times programming some seriously cool games (by 1980's standards).  Today they'd be prett lame I suppose. I worked through the Commodore series - C-64, C-128, and then bought my first "PC", a Franklin 8088.

Enough about my childhood geekness.  At Messiah, I'm a web developer and have built many web applications such as the housing system which students use to sign up for  rooms, find roommates, meal plans, etc.  I've written our Undergraduate Application, Graduate Application, Dual Enroll Application, iMessiah Mobile web app, and manage Canvas synchronization between Banner and Instructure and if it takes a credit card payment, the project comes to me.

I used to run a lot, and have two full marathons under my belt and a handful of 1/2s, and a pile of shorter races.  I enjoy programming, model trains, and RC helicopters.  Very few people know that if I had enough money, I would retire, and learn to fly a (real) helicopter, and start a charter business for hunters, hikers and campers, and fly them up deep into the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate NY (USA) where I used to camp when I was younger.

I guess that's about it.

Welcome to the site!
-Jon
