Has anyone modified the Events module in the CMS to use different inputs that what comes as standard?


We would like to create a directory of locations (buildings, rooms, fields, etc.) with different fields (occupancy, room type, technology available, etc.) and the use that directory to drive the location field in the Events module.

I can easily create the directory from data we already have, but I'm not sure how to drive the location field in the Events module effectively with it.  Has anyone attempted anything like this?
