Luke here :)
Luke Storer - Jadu Support Engineer
So hello! I'm Luke and I've been working as a member of the Jadu Support Team for about 2.5 years now. I don't get to do a whole lot of development within my job role so tend to do most of my Jadu / PHP development as a hobby.
Whilst I haven't had the chance to work on any customer specific custom functionality as I'm a member of the Support team rather than core Engineering / Spacecraft I have been able to do pretty much anything I fancied in my spare time so far since being at Jadu I've written:
- a Homepage widget for embedding a Google Doc as Homepage content.
- a Custom Document Creation routine to generate single page documents pages from a Google Doc - this was primarily to look at a way of allowing us to utilise anchor tags to jump to content further down the page.
- a two part native android app / weejot application - whereby the native app on the phone submits the phones location and it can be tracked via the counterpart weejot application, handy if you lose track of your project managers on a company night out.
Happy to share any of my working proof's of concept here, or get them committed to the Github account for anyone that wants a play around with some of the Google Docs integration.
I've recently began some more involved development work and as such have been looking to begin using our Vagrant CMS project to bring up development environments on the quick.
What next ? I actually think I'm going to look at building an actual custom CMS extension, rather a widget, one of our engineers has / is creating a great framework called Gravity that makes custom development of modules a far more rigid and defined process - I've got an idea to extend a directory so their can be engagement points for feedback on services, facilities, etc… with users submitted comments / reviews. So once theres some code saved to a file somewhere I'll present that for anyone who feels they would like to use / contribute to it
