Document page performance issue....

Site Bugs, errors and suggestions

Recently we started seeing a lot more slowness on our site related to document pages.  Specifically, documents that had a lot of pages.  Our planetarium page for example (https://www.wsc.edu/info/20091/planetarium/711/fulldome_shows), up until a week ago that page took roughly 40-50 seconds to load.  We also started seeing a lot of very high CPU utilization on our db server that didn't correlate to anything specific (cronjobs, etc.).

As you may (not may not) have noticed, I renewed the domain and haven't transferred the site yet (sorry Peter).  Mainly because my spring blew up and I had little time for anything except work, so the path of least resistance was to renew the domain :)

During that time I had a though, that I'm strongly leaning toward.

Downloads : Copy To Clipboard

We've had some complaints about the number of clicks to get a download to download using the native Jadu functionality.  I've made some small changes to the downloads admin page allowing a content admin to copy the direct file url to the clipboard and then paste it into a link in the Content Widget.

Here's a video I recorded today for another purpose demoing the functionality.

I'm happy to share how I did it if anyone is interested.

Hello,

There is a proposal here at Greenwich to replace SearchImprove, which is running down, with Apache Nutch+Solr.

Is anyone else running Jadu also using these technologies? If so, how is it going?

Alternatively, is anyone using Rupa, and how's that?

Has anyone created a custom action in XForms Pro to save XForm data to an external database?


I really need to develop this kind of functionality, but not sure where to begin and Jadu Support closed my ticket without giving me any answers.  I reopened the ticket in hopes I can get somewhere with them, but just in case I can't I thought I'd check here and see if anyone else has done something similar.
